Paul joined Representative Frank Hornstein, Senator Scott Dibble and over fifty constituents at Saturday’s Senate District 61 Town Hall event. Transportation, natural resources, and property taxes were on the minds of Minneapolis residents as they asked questions of their elected officials and shared their thoughts and views on various topics.
Transportation was a major topic, with citizens expressing the need for more bicycle-friendly roadways and harsher laws for distracted drivers. Issues regarding the MSP airport were also raised. Paul said that it’s important to find a way to continue to expand air travel in our state while also expanding other types of transportation, such as intercity railways, to take some of the pressure off airports.
Several constituents voiced concerns over the decline in quality of certain area parks and lakes, in part due to industries that may be appropriating or adversely affecting natural resources. The representatives agreed that support for our natural parks would continue to be a priority in upcoming years.
Thanks for coming out!
